Senior SAP - ABAP

• Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

• Permanent Position

Senior SAP (ABAP) is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting ABAP-based solutions within the SAP environment. The role involves translating functional requirements into technical specifications, delivering high-quality custom developments, and ensuring stable and efficient system performance. The position works closely with functional teams and business stakeholders to support enhancements, integrations, and production issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ABAP programs including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and conversions.

• Translate functional specifications into detailed technical design documents.

• Perform ABAP debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

• Build and support enhancements using BADI, user exits, enhancement points, and implicit/explicit enhancements.

• Develop interfaces using RFC, BAPI, IDoc, and APIs.

• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and UAT support.

• Support production issues, incidents, and provide timely resolutions.

• Optimize ABAP code for performance and ensure adherence to coding standards.

• Work closely with functional consultants to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

• Maintain technical documentation including specifications, test scripts, and deployment notes.

• Support transport management and coordination across development, QA, and production systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years plus of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.

• Strong knowledge of ABAP programming, debugging, and performance tuning.

• Good understanding of SAP functional modules and business processes.

• Experience in full software development lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy, support).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
