SENIOR BUYER / PROCUREMENT

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist with a proven track record in the oil and gas industry to join our support team. The ideal candidate will possess more than 5 years of hands-on experience in procurement, specifically within the oil and gas sector.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive support throughout the entire procurement process, from bid preparation to vendor management. A strong technical background and expertise in the main components of plant and machinery are essential to excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Preparation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare comprehensive bid packages that align with project requirements.
  • Engage in technical discussions with engineering teams to understand the technical specifications needed for effective bid submissions.

Vendor Document Review:

  • Thoroughly review vendor documents and ensure compliance with technical requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide feedback and coordinate with vendors to address any discrepancies or missing information.

Technical Screening of Quotations:

  • Apply technical expertise to conduct initial evaluations of vendor quotations, assessing technical compatibility with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure alignment between vendor offerings and project needs.

BID Evaluation Summary:

  • Prepare comprehensive BID evaluation summaries encompassing both technical and commercial aspects of vendor proposals.
  • Assist in the assessment of technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with project objectives.

Vendor Quality Control:

  • Guide and mentor vendors to ensure their products and services meet the stringent quality requirements of the oil and gas industry.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to validate vendor compliance with quality standards.

Vendor Deliverables Schedule:

  • Monitor and track vendor deliverables to ensure timely submission as per project timelines.
  • Address any delays or discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.

 

 

 

 

Vendor Meetings:

  • Organize and lead vendor meetings as necessary to discuss project requirements, updates, and challenges.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between vendors and project teams.

Technical Expertise:

  • Leverage your in-depth technical knowledge of main components of plant and machinery to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams and vendors throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Project Support:

  • Contribute to project teams by providing insights into procurement strategies, market trends, and supplier capabilities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in procurement within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of main components of plant and machinery.
  • Proven experience in bid preparation, vendor document review, technical screening, and BID evaluation.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas industry quality standards and requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
