Contract Manager – Business Development/ Sales - Job Description

The following are all aspects of a contract manager’s duties:

  • Support our business development team in negotiating Power Purchase Contracts with our clients (energy offtakers) and ensuring best legal protection for the company, lenders and investors.

  • In addition, draft, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions.

  • Create and maintain relationships with suppliers management and serve as the single point of contact for matters concerning contracts.

  • Draft notices under the company’s existing contracts promptly when due, maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.

  • Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.

  • Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal according to what is best for the company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of commercial and legal negotiations or other relevant experience

  • Major in Law preferred

  • Proven work experience in a commercial team environment with contract negotiation experience

  • Strong legal and negotiation competency

  • Understanding of what banks require in terms of legal documents and contracts to provide financing

  • Being able to align with all departments on legal requirements in our contracts (such as finance/ loan compliance)

Personality and Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills. OneTeam mentality.

  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently

  • Experience working with, and presenting to, senior executives

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management

Key Responsibilities

  • Support our business development team in negotiating Power Purchase Contracts with our clients (energy offtakers) and ensuring best legal protection for the company, lenders and investors.

  • Improve our Power Purchase Agreements and related Agreements where required

  • Create recommendations to be presented to management and executives

  • Compliant document filing of contracts with tracking and chasing of missing contracts/ ensuring all company contracts are signed as per the company’s approval matrix
