About the Opportunity
The Materials and Corrosion Engineer provides subject matter expertise in support of safe and reliable operations, growth projects and new technology developments.
In this role, you will be the Subject Matter Expert, as well as Materials & Corrosion Engineering discipline leader, for 20+ plants worldwide. You will provide materials and corrosion engineering skills throughout the engineering and construction stages of major projects for both retrofit and new build opportunities.
The position offers the opportunity to work as part of an expert team of talented engineers and chemists, to travel internationally, and to make a material contribution to the generation of new value for the business.
About you
You will be a Chartered Engineer with a degree in Material / Corrosion Science or appropriate engineering discipline; with extensive experience in Materials / Corrosion Engineering, preferably in the Petrochemicals industry.
You will offer:
Personal and process safety leadership
Deep experience and theoretical knowledge of materials selection, exotic materials of construction (preferably zirconium and nickel-based alloys), corrosion mechanisms and corrosion protection
Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across organisations and with third parties such as JV partners, vendors and engineering contractors
Experience in equipment fabrication, inspection, maintenance & repair including welding and system coating.
You will be a team player with experience working in and managing the activities of multidiscipline teams and proven interpersonal skills including the ability to influence without formal authority and work across different cultures.
