Project Development Director

The Project Development Director is a senior position based in Japan and is to provide leadership with respect to the Company’s origination and development strategy. The role requires close coordination within the existing team in Japan as well as functional divisions (engineering, development, finance, etc.) at the European headquarters and the regional APAC offices.

• Define the origination and development strategy in line with the objectives of the company in Japan, including sectoral focus areas, development approach, investment considerations and partnering strategies.
• Lead new project origination and negotiations with counterparties, including landowner and joint venture partners
• Prepare investment summaries to senior management, outlining project opportunities, development process, risks, and investment rational
• Map out preliminary process flow diagrams for proposed projects as part of the project's development stages.
• Prepare a responsibility matrix and interface schedule for each project with 3rd party developer.
• Conduct day-to-day oversight of developer’s deliverables and milestone schedules
• Provide support and assistance on the land acquisition, stakeholder management, and rezoning activities of project sites.
• Support relevant reporting lines in development of project in permitting.
• Maintain strong knowledge of any economic or other relevant external factors which could influence current or future project activity.
• Liaise seamlessly with Legal, Development, Finance, Engineering and Maintenance teams.
