Supervises : All waterworks activities

 

Description of key results of department

  • Supervises and directs the daily on-site waterworks tasks for the designated project. This includes innovating new methods, processes, and systems to enhance the effectiveness of dredging operations. Collaborates with the ship's crew and dump boss in project planning.
  • Prioritizes safety by ensuring that all work is conducted securely, with activities following safety protocols, including toolbox talks, risk assessments, and appropriate work permits.

Job Description

  • Supervise and oversee day-to-day waterworks activities at the designated project site, implementing innovative procedures and systems to enhance office operations.
  • Ensure weekly reporting, including FL (Floating Line) status, record additional tasks performed, and assist in project planning by communicating with the DM (Design Manager), PM (Project Manager), and the project team.
  • Possess extensive experience in general waterworks, particularly with a deep understanding of cutter suction techniques.
  • Provide supervision for positioning and relocation of sinkers, riser pipes, and floating lines.
  • Manage floating lines, adhering to multiple standards related to pontoons, dunlops, floaters, and similar equipment.
  • Oversee anchor handling for vessels, including general anchor planning and maintenance of floating equipment in storage or in use.
  • Monitor floating pipeline conditions and promptly report any issues requiring rectification, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Coordinate with multicats, dredgers, and the dredge superintendent to fulfill dredging area activities.
  • Supervise various on-site activities, including coordination with port authorities.
  • Assist with reclamation activities, such as placing and laying materials as instructed by the Superintendent.
  • Lead and manage the crew and related equipment, implementing necessary procedures to maintain a precise working environment.
  • Optimize resource utilization to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
  • Prioritize safety by supervising workers and ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements, setting an example for safety compliance.
  • Stay familiar with and enforce strict adherence to safety procedures, industry codes, standards, and regulatory rules.
  • Provide accurate updates to the supervisor or superintendent regarding work progress, incidents, delays, asset status, and project forecasts.
  • Offer guidance and support to junior team members, escalating issues to superiors when necessary.
  • Emphasize the importance of safety for all employees, actively participating in the safety program to maintain a safer work environment.
  • Ensure that all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Be prepared to handle tasks beyond the scope of this role as required by operational demands.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelor degree or diploma or an equivalent professional qualification or an equivalent professional experience.
  • Certification / Membership: STCW

Function Specific Experiences

  • Must have a solid background in Dredging, and excellent supervision skills for waterworks activities
  • Supervise on positioning / relocation of sinker, Riser pipes & floating lines

Industry Related Experience

  • Dredging a must have

Years of experience

  • 10 years or relevant experience ideally have been a
  • Dredge Master or a very experienced Multicat Skipper

Core Competence

  • Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity;
  • Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills
  • Required: English / Arabic and any other language is an asset.

IT Skills

  • Microsoft Office is an asset
  • Flexibility: being longer period of time on duty
  • Passing physical fitness from AD Health Service Co. SEHA is
  • (ADMA) will be required before working at offshore Oil and Gas
