The company is a multinational renewable organisation that is actively hiring in Taiwan to further their business plans and aggressive growth. 

Job description:

  • Identify potential renewable energy developments and assist team executives to identify and assess new development and investment opportunities in Taiwan
  • Meet and liaise with local developers, service providers (such as due diligence consultants), relevant authorities, and other stakeholders both on specific potential projects and in the ordinary course of business to maintain relationships
  • Develop and leverage a network of professional relationships with local developers, relevant regulatory agencies, and industry participants.
  • Assist on due diligence or development opportunities including the selection, appointment, and management of due diligence advisers as necessary.
  • Support the translation of communications (emails, presentations, documents, etc) and general facilitation of communication with local market participants.
  • Provide analysis and assessment on relevant opportunities to facilitate the Investment Director, Development Director, and Energy leadership team to make investment decisions.
  • Participate in commercial discussions and the negotiation of definitive agreements for new development and investment opportunities with counterparties.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with the development plan and highlight any issues or risks to the Development Director.
  • Complete regular reporting activities for internal progress management purposes as well as updating Energy leadership on the ongoing development activities and expected timing of reaching key development milestones.
  • Participate in project risk mitigation strategy and reporting and proactively manage the development process including identifying key risks to project delivery, including commercial, licensing, and technical, and managing budget and funding to minimize potential losses due to delays or failure to secure projects.
  • Support preparation of stakeholder engagement and management plans for the projects.
  • Develop good relationships with local joint venture partners, including visits to project sites to manage key local project stakeholders.

 

Job requirements:

  • Degree or post-graduate qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Legal or similar level technical or commercial training.
  • Established and hands-on 5+ years of professional experience with key focus on energy project development, preferably in solar, onshore wind or other renewable energy.
  • Strong network with local developers and BoE in Taiwan
  • Good project management skills including the ability to plan work, work to the plan, manage risks and issues and drive outcomes in the face of tight timeframes and external pressures.
  • Ability to participate in technical and regulatory discussions with appropriate engineering and legal experts and government agencies as well as manage input requirements from internal support functions such as engineering, procurement, legal, and finance.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and ambitious personality.
  • Ability to identify new project opportunities and develop existing opportunities.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in written and conversational Chinese and sufficient English to participate in project development reviews and prepare presentation materials
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Taiwan as and when required
