The client is seeking a leader to spearhead all aspects of their solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. This key position demands a strong understanding of solar PV technology and project management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of bringing solar projects from concept to completion.

 

As the Senior Project Manager / Head of Project Manager, you will be also managing a team of 6 project managers. 

 

Key Tasks:

Charting the Course: Develop strategic plans for the company's solar PV portfolio, aligning them with the company overall goals. Analyze potential projects, providing insights on feasibility, risks, and potential benefits.

 

Seeing it Through: Lead the creation of comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs. Collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth project execution, from design and engineering to construction and final commissioning. Implement best practices in project management for successful delivery. Oversee construction activities handled by external contractors.

 

Building Relationships: Forge strong connections with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Communicate project updates, risks, and mitigation plans clearly and promptly to key stakeholders.

 

Financial & Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met and costs are controlled. Allocate resources effectively, optimizing manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve project objectives.

 

Quality & Compliance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to guarantee the delivery of high-quality solar PV projects. Stay current on industry regulations and ensure projects comply with relevant codes and guidelines. Uphold safety, environmental regulations, and HSE policies.

 

Mitigating Risks & Building a Team: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Implement risk management protocols to address issues quickly and maintain project timelines. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of project managers and staff. Provide guidance and support for professional development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports on project status, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Conduct thorough project reviews to analyze lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing solar PV projects, with a focus on the construction of both rooftop-mounted and ground-mounted installations.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, including meeting budgetary and timeline objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar PV technology, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, CAD, SketchUp).
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
