FINANCIAL ANALYST
Purpose of the Role:
To support the Finance Manager in financial reporting, analysis, planning, and statutory compliance activities for the Malaysia and Japan entities. The role includes responsibilities in cash and banking operations, performance forecasting, and coordination with commercial and cross-functional teams, including managing Letter of Credit (LC) operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver financial analysis to support business performance planning and commercial decision-making.
- Manage daily cash flow, banking transactions, and account reconciliations for Malaysia and Japan operations.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and identify potential gaps or exposures.
- Ensure compliance with Foreign Exchange Policy and assess its impact.
- Maintain Balance Sheet integrity, focusing on Accounts Receivable.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including:
- Margin reviews and analysis
- Sales and purchase adjustments
- Forecast preparation
- EBITDA analysis and monthly reporting templates
- Monthly business review (MBR) pack
- Balance Sheet Assurance (BSA) process
- Support annual budgeting processes and reviews.
- Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with filing requirements for Malaysia and Japan entities.
- Manage Letter of Credit (LC) operations—monitoring, advising, processing, and recording with stakeholders and banks.
- Maintain and update Vendor Master Data as needed.
- Support the reduction of aged receivables and ensure minimal bad debt through active reconciliation and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist with ad hoc finance-related tasks such as:
- Unusual transaction tracking
- Business case development
- Delegation of Authority (DoA) support
- Relationship management with banks, commercial teams, and other key stakeholders
Technical Requirements:
- ACCA qualified (advantage) or equivalent degree with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- 5-7 years’ experience in cash and banking operations, AR collections, or similar roles.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and technical accounting principles.
- Basic knowledge of security instruments like Letters of Credit.
- Strong SAP skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
