JOB TITLE: Sales Manager - Refurbishment
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Grow sales and market share in waterproofing, flooring and other solutions for refurbishment in the Management Corporation Strata Market (MCST) in Singapore
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Understand and map MCST market (competitors, products, pricing, success factors)
• Develop sales action plans for the MCST market including identification of key players (owners, MCST, architects, consultants, applicators)
• Identify, engage, and promote solutions to key stakeholders within the refurbishment ecosystem, including MCSTs, facility managers, consultants, and contractors, with a focus on waterproofing, re-roofing, car parks, concrete repairs, and protective coatings. Ensure that proposed systems align with functional, durability, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Establish partnerships with facility management firms, asset owners, and building operators to position the company as a preferred partner for renovation and lifecycle maintenance programs across industrial, commercial, and residential assets.
• Lead the go-to-market execution by organizing and delivering site visits, technical demonstrations, training sessions, and industry seminars, reinforcing the company's role as a solutions provider rather than a transactional supplier.
• Conduct detailed site assessments and technical evaluations, providing end-to-end support from product selection to application method and post-installation guidance thereby building project pipeline.
• Conduct continuous market research and competitor benchmarking to track industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer needs. Translate insights into actionable input for technical, R&D, and marketing teams to refine product offerings and positioning.
• Act as a strategic ambassador for the company within the construction industry, promoting its values, solutions, and innovations across various external platforms.
• Represent the organization in trade forums, Architects/Designers associations, BCA, influencer networks, and government-led standardization bodies, contributing to thought leadership and regulatory dialogue.
• Foster and maintain strong internal collaboration with cross-functional teams including specifications, technical services, marketing, key account management, R&D, and operations to ensure alignment of strategy, messaging, and execution.
• Build and nurture relationships with key industry stakeholders to influence specifications, support product approvals, and strengthen the company’s position as a trusted industry leader.
• Manage and update frequently the project pipeline for the MCST market and report on execution of action plans.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Minimum Diploma in Building or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ sales experience in construction products, waterproofing and/or flooring industry, preferably in the MCST and building maintenance market.
• Proven ability to develop, execute and report on sales action plans and deliver above average growth.
• Proven ability to establish new relationships and develop new business.
• Proven ability to develop and nurture long term relationships in the MCST and building maintenance market.
• Proven technical skills in problem analysis and solution provision.
• High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• High level of internal organizational skills ensuring support of different areas of the company e.g. technical services, operations, finance.
• Own transport and valid driver’s licence.
