Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Package Engineer to oversee the design, specification, and procurement of mechanical marine package equipment for EPC projects, particularly within the offshore and FPSO sectors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and familiarity with relevant international codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and selection of mechanical package equipment across various engineering phases, including FEED and detailed design for offshore/FPSO projects.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes, classification society rules, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare, review, and direct the development of technical specifications and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project needs.
Conduct technical evaluations of supplier bids, guiding the team through the bid assessment process to ensure optimal vendor selection.
Review and validate engineering deliverables, drawings, and third-party documents to ensure technical integrity and project schedule adherence.
Supervise the mechanical engineering team, overseeing quality control and deliverables while ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
Provide technical support during supplier shop inspections, as well as during construction and commissioning phases on-site.
Resolve complex technical issues independently, leveraging in-depth knowledge and experience to recommend effective solutions.
Uphold compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while demonstrating ethical leadership and integrity in all business activities.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering within the oil & gas sector.
Proven track record in EPC projects, preferably with FPSO and offshore experience.
Well-versed in international design standards and industry codes such as ASME, NFPA, IMO, SOLAS, and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV).
Strong technical, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage teams effectively.
