Senior Financial Analyst 

The primary duties of this role, which reports to the Financial Reporting Lead, are the production of financial reporting packages, delivery and support of monthly financial closing processes, and analysis of company results. The General & Admin/Corporate kind of accounts, cost allocation, and financial reporting to the HPB Group are all under this person's responsibility. This also includes helping the HPB Group with inquiries from both internal and external parties.

Job Duties : 

  • In charge of all accounts of a general & administrative/corporate nature
  • In charge of managing accruals for associated capital expenditures and general and administrative expense accounts
  • Create a functional expenses allocation for General & Administrative accounts' shareable & non-recoverable costs
  • Review the forex reasonableness test and the system forex revaluation report
  • Examine the lease agreement and create the working computation linked to MFRS16 Leases
  • Conduct monthly major account reconciliation and analysis, taking inventory into account.
  • Ensure correctness and completeness for recurring and one-time transactions; monitor and close out open items in working capital accounts
  • Support for the preparation and timely submission of all IFRS compliant financial statements including relevant analytical reviews for monthly and quarterly for reporting to HPB Group
  • Support for Bank Negara Malaysia, KLSE (Bursa) and other government authorities reporting as required
  • Collaboration with outside auditors on annual statutory audits and any other ad hoc audits
  • Communication with the company secretary and internal auditors regarding necessary statutory obligations
  • SUN automation to increase the accuracy and effectiveness of processes
  • Help with financial analyses for procurement/tendering purposes
  • Assure adherence to group policy and accounting standards
  • Other ad-hoc duties as prescribed by superiors and to assist in achieving Finance Department's objectives.
  •  
    Responsible for instituting internal controls and checks over custody of PSC assets (Fixed Assets, Materials, Spares & Supplies)
     
  • Assist PSC risk assessment and insurance placement.

Job Requirements : 

  • Degree in Accounting with at least 4-6 years of experience in general accounting or of similar capacity. 
     
  • Prior experience as external auditor in reputable audit multinational firms will be an advantage.
     
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA ANZ, ICAEW, ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
     
  • Experience within the upstream oil and gas industry is preferred.
